• Forest, Landscape Image, Killarney Co. Kerry

Misty Forest by Killarney, Co. Kerry

Forest light can be dreamlike AND a nightmare for processing-who ever tried this will know what i am talking about. The conrast range is pure beauty for the eyes but the camera hardly can capture this with one singe image. I am still trying to find new methodes without using HDR or Filters to come as close as possible to the REAL see experience. Misty days are helpfull because it balances the harsh contrast. I received some emails, asking for a tutorial about forest processing. As soon as i find a bit more time I will post it. Enjoy.

• Golden, Golden Sun and it's Magic

Get up early!

Some new images, taken on my trip to the mountain top. The valey was covered in mist and hidden in silence and the rising sun was so gentle and golden like I've never seen before. I was crossing the bridge of portmagee and then it happened: I was looking to the right and this magical moment arrived. The sun reflexion was surreal - no horizon to find orientation. I was somehow left in the space with this golden ball and formless nature. This was/is MAGIC!

Finally the sun made it through the fog and bursting sun beams enlightened the sleepy landscape and cottages .... of course: everybody else was still asleep ( ; Get up early!

Enjoy,

• Bliss of Nature

The Reason why...

I am a landscape photographer. Because of moments like this! Actually i didn't sleep the night before because i had a feeling in my stomach, that i should wait for the sunrise. You can't see my dark eye shadows and my slightly drunken state of mind but anyway: i was in bliss. Can somebody tell me how not to be in bliss with this divine moment in front of you? Your attention is busy with absorbing the endless space and play of light. Silence....pure silence! i hope the image can remind you how precious nature can be - it will always remind you of your origin. You don't have to name it, you don't have to point on it - actually you CAN'T point on it. You just know - without using the knowledge in your brain. Inner knowing will always put the mind into the right place, which can't be described. Loads of images to come soon - i still didn't find time to process them. I hope you enjoy it ( :

• Horizons

Space

As you all maybe noticed, i feel attracted to seascape horizons. It is all about the simplicity and the unique play of light. Same ocean, same line, same sky but always different water, different clouds and different light. The horizon is a fluid manifestation - like a river: the river of today is not the river of tomorrow because different water will pass. Horizons and rivers are the obvious teachers about the constant changes in life - they are always like new born babies.... in every second. They are art by themselves without minding it at all ( : I like that about nature.

This image was taken after a heavy rain shower. The sun managed to call in for a few minutes.
